Hi, Chunkers!

I've just finished me contribution for issue 1, which is on this page: http://www.reetcomic.co.uk/True%20Stories%201.htm
It's a terrifying true story...

I have loads more strips on the site so feel free to snoop around like an old man in a bloomers factory.
Can't wait for issue one.

A belated "hi!"

Nov. 19th, 2007 | 09:07 am

I thought I'd just introduce myself; I'm Jess and I'll be in Issue 1 of Fat Chunk and after seeing what people have posted on here, I'm feeling rather intimidated!! Can't wait to see the finished book though. If anyone wants to take a look at my stuff, you can here:

Yello All

Sep. 24th, 2007 | 06:59 pm

Hi just thought I'd say hello to you all and introduce myself.
My name is Xander otherwise known as 'Xee' I was responsible for the amatrurish one page Xeebot in Fatchunk Vol One.
I'm 27 and from the small town of Falkirk in Scotland i've been into comics for a long long while - Influences range from The Eagle to Tank Girl (Deadline!) from JTHM, classic manga (Shirow, Kishiro) to some of the more popular Marvel/Image stuff.
I'm primarily trained as a graphic designer and illustrator so working in comics is fairly new to me - but loving every moment of it and at the same time it blows my mind that the real guys can churn out quality stories and artwork on a daily basis - i tip my hat at you sirs.

So Zombies eh? What kind of diseased ridden ideas can be summed up here then? looking forward to it - hope to post some preliminaries up here soon. Looking forward to seeing the sweet sweet art.

catch me on Myspace www.myspace.com/sketch_book

Cheers

Blasted Things

mood: hungry hungry

It's 1 am and I decided a few hours ago to rejig my page. Much to Jamie's chagrin, probably, as it'll be a smidgeon late (but still on the 1st March! How angelic am I!) but pffff I like things perfect. Decided to wing it in the end, all that development for NOTHING - I've come up with a kooky storyline that I'm strangely quite pleased with.

Hello, Dan from phlegm comic here.
Just thought i'd put up a few frames for people to have a squiz at. The sketch is a little random. It started out as a mechanical tree that grows fruit, picks it and the ingests it again only to end up back on the tree.....and so on and on.

Finissimo!

Feb. 21st, 2007 | 01:22 pm

It is indeed finished, I had loads of fun with this one, although there were some testing moments and one or two snapped pens. Despite what I said earlier in this blog, there is no ultra violence in the strip (Despite what I said), but the story on which the comic is based is less than plesant. So that's it, can't wait to see the final product, good luck everyone, it's been a pleasure!
regards, mn.

Hullo! Bard here!
I give you the first panel of the International Pig Fighter vs. Robots! I've spent the weekend watching movies and getting drunk which somehow resulted in me writing the script for the comic and finishing half a page of artwork. So this is the first panel setting up the reader's expectations for the damned thing. I'm just making sure straight away that no one makes the stupid assumption that this story will actually have a meaningful plot! heheee.... no no, this thing is nothing but incomprehensible and trite absurdities melted with unholy amounts of violence! surely that has its own cultural value though?

I dunno, we'll see.

On our end...

Feb. 16th, 2007 | 01:10 am

Hey there folks! Robin from the Banana Farm Crew here...

Well, after going through lots of really great ideas, Nathan and I finally found one that we were both really excited about. I typed up the script while giggling and handed it in to him. The very next day, he sent me this pencil sketch of the three main robots in our little segment. I think he may have giggled while drawing it as well. You'll have to ask him. So here's the pencil sketch:

In the meantime, I'm going to do some things...not breaking into a factory.

Howdy there fellow fatchunkers, my name's jeremy. Thought I'd stop by and say hello, and everything I've seen on here so far is amazing. I def. can't wait to hold a copy of this in my hands. I'm still in the midst of working on my page, but I should have it completed by next week. Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that I think everything looks awesome, and if you'd like to see what my work kind of looks like, I just put up my latest web strip which can be found on the link below. the strip is located on the bottem of the page. I'll try to have a preview of my page as soon as possible.

Concept Robot...

Feb. 8th, 2007 | 11:16 am

Alright Fat Chunkers,
I've not drawn a comic strip before, so was delighted to be offered the chance to do so for this book. I've been entirely uninspired, but managed to force out a few ideas of which this is one. More to come and hopefully I'll be able to come up with something of hilarity and ultra violence (I stress this is just a concept).

Thye Island of Misfit Robots

Jan. 19th, 2007 | 09:58 am

Domo Arigato Mr.(or Ms.) Roboto. Glad to be on board. I'm Patt. My idea is based around The Island of Misfit Toys(from Rudolph), but instead of toys it's robots. The main character is the captain of an oil tanker that lands on the island.(see first picture) The robots are a loveable group of robots that nobody wants. (mainly discontinued robots that have inadvertently hurt killed or maimed people.) The second picture is of The Ballpitatron 4000, designed not only to entertain children, but to flip burgers and act as a surrogate dad. It was discontinued after children became trapped inside. The third picture is of The Kid Stabber. Why was he created????
